Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra
As an archipelago, Indonesia consists of islands and beautiful beaches are a tourist attraction. Not only the beauty of the beach, the waves in Indonesia is also spectacular, even lined up as one of the best surfing waves in the world.
One of the best waves in Indonesia were in the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra. Mentawai Islands is famous among international tourists site as one of the most challenging surfing sports in the world. Mentawai even dubbed is as Hawaii in Indonesia.
Every year, tourists visit the Mentawai reaches 12,000 people, mostly surfers from around the world who want to 'hunt' waves. In fact, the Mentawai Islands (Sipora, Sikakap, North Pagai and South Pagai) has 400 best surfing points, 23 of which even international scale.
Mentawai beaches admired by the surfers, including Nyangnyang Beach, Coral Beach Bajat, Karoniki Beaches and Coastal Pananggelat Mainuk which are all located in the District of South Siberut. In District Sipora there are several beaches, such as Bosua Katiet Beach and South Beach, while in the District of North Pagai are the West Coast.
Problems at Mentawai is still inadequate infrastructure. To reach the Mentawai of West Sumatra capital, Padang, travelers must use the ship to take a trip a few hours.
