EGYPT - Again, tourists become targets of crime while abroad pleasure. This time, the tragedy occurred in the State of Pyramids, Egypt.
Two tourists, a man and a woman from Israel Norway, was abducted by gunmen in the Sinai Peninsula. Egyptian security officials said that the couple was arrested while pleasure in Taba, near the border of Egypt and Israel.
The case of kidnapping has become a big problem in Egypt in recent years. British foreign representative offices even have long banned his tourist all away to the Sinai Peninsula.
"The security situation in the Sinai Peninsula has deteriorated since the beginning of 2012, and there were many cases of kidnapping, robbery, and piracy," said the British foreign office, as quoted from the Telegraph, Monday (25/03/2013).
Early March, two British tourists were held at Sharm el Sheikh heading of Suez. They are held by Sinai Bedouin tribes, fortunately later released unharmed.
Sinai Bedouin community has long complained to the Egyptian authorities about the discrimination they receive. Kidnapping became their way to protest the Egyptian government.
