Ghost Tours Surrounded by Dead Silent Witness

A prison building which is very popular tourist site in Australia now more friendly to visitors. If the past is feared, now so many people want to visit the prison to know the history that happened in it.

Built in the mid 1800's, the Old Melbourne Gaol became a gathering place for people who break the rules. In fact, too many high profile criminals were detained here. Prisons filled while the rampant crime wave in the surrounding area.

Execution of criminals is often done, there were approximately 133 executions that have occurred. The most famous is the execution carried out in 1880 to Ned Kelly. He is the killer of the famous three police officers were so cruel. Today, tourists can see his mask on display in one corner of the prison.

In 1929, the prison stopped operating. There is no special treatment committed against these criminals silent witness. Until finally in 1972, the National Trust took over the building and make it a tour. Besides being able to surround the prison and knowing its history, tourists can take part in a ghost tour around the prison.
